We subscribe our Mail Server to Real Time Blocking list to reduce spam. Quietly, without you even seeing it, all mail attempting to be delivered to our clients is verified against the rel time blocking lists. If the mail is from a known spam site, it is refused by the server, and you don't get bothered by it. At peak times we have had over 20 blocking actions per minute. You can help to reduce spam by keeping your antivirus current and up to date. There are a great many viruses out there that will set themselves up to send mail to everyone in your address book. If you don't know the sender, don't open the email - DELETE IT! We currently use the SPAMCOP and SPAMHAUS real time block lists.
